Music composer Aadesh Shrivastava, who was battling a relapsed cancer, passed away on the 5th of September, just a day after his birthday. He breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital in Delhi, where he was admitted for the past one and a half months.
A passionate singer and a talented music composer, Aadesh is known to have composed music for films like Chalte Chalte, Baghban and others and has also been one of the key judges on the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa stage. His last work was for the film ‘Welcome Back’.
Srivastava is survived by his wife, Vijeta Pandit, a former Bollywood actress and sister of music-composer duo Jatin-Lalit, and their two sons- Anivesh and Avitesh.
In 2011, when the composer had been diagnosed with cancer for the first time, the industry had allegedly given him a cold shoulder. It was the third time Aadesh’s cancer had relapsed. But, Aadesh had battled this deadly disease and overcame it with his zeal and positivity.
One of his family members had said that his chemotherapy was stopped in the last few days as he was not responding to the treatment at all.
At the dawn of 5th September, when the whole country was preparing for Teachers’ day celebrations, a legendary soul passed away in the silence of the night.
However, his compositions have etched a deep sketch of music in our hearts. His soulful music will remind us of him time and again. He shall forever be remembered in the hearts, minds, prayers and well wishes of millions.
