It is not everyday that you get an opportunity in life, and then go on to give it your best shot. But what does one do when life doesn’t go your way? You don’t sit and whale your time or cry over what didn’t come out of your expectations, isn’t it?
At the Mr and Miss Kolkata 2016, I chanced upon Subha Moy Ghatak- he won the first runner up title, but just like many others in the crowd, he cheered on the winners. I have been to many shows such as this one, where I did notice the runner up and the entourage that didn’t bag the title, being low and maybe a little out of the way. However, when it comes to Subha Moy Ghatak, the boy had his pearly white smile flashed around. He went on to meet his co-contestants and the winners, and made sure that he left the venue that night with a smile.
That’s what I call the spirit of positivity
Me: So how has been the journey so far for you? Our readers want to know?
Him: Life has always thrown lemons at me, and those I took up as challenges, making tequila and enjoying the drink, not literally though. I have my ways to overcome them all. I am a 23 year old boy from Durgapur, West Bengal, and I chase my dreams with gusto and guts, as a typical Sagittarian would.
Me: You do believe in the burning fire within that never dies out, do you?
Him: Oh yes I do! The fire within me knows how to keep the flame of life alive. I cook, I dance, I indulge in sports and I love watching movies. Fitness and football are my favorites though, and that’s what keeps me mentally and physically fit. As the runner up to the Mr. Kolkata 2016, I have learnt to better myself than what I was yesterday, and I am the warrior fighting against my own demons- I better myself each passing day.
Me: Your modeling career began, when?
Him: I began modelling around a year and a half back, and I always idolized the likes of Arjun Rampal and Milind Soman. Family wise, they have all been behind me, supporting me and making me who I am till date, especially my younger brother Ranit Ghatak.
Me: What work have you done till date?
Him: Modeling wise, I have walked the ramp with eminent nationwide models for Tanishq, Sananda Club and many local boutiques. With regard to being onscreen and acting, I have made my presence felt in Punyi Pukur and Tumi Asbe Bole, to name a few.
Me: Name a few celebrities you have worked with?
Him: Up until now, I have rubbed shoulders with famous celebrities- Koushik Roy, Monami Ghosh, Bharat Koul, Santu Mukhopadhyay, Anushree Das, Sohini Sanyal, Rajanya Mitra, Aishwarya Sen, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Anish Mukherjee, Aparajita Adhya, Goutam De, Rahul Banerjee, Sandipta Sen, Rupanjana Mitra, Sagnik Chatterjee and I hope to continue working with them and more in the near future.
Me: What does Subha Moy Ghatak aspire to be ahead?
Him: A brand in the world of glamour and fashion, a brand ambassador someday, and a true honest inspiration to the upcoming models in the world of fashion. I also want to dapple with acting, because that’s my forte too. However, since I am very family oriented, I would want to be there for my parents and give them the happiness they deserve. They have worked for many years for me by sacrificing everything, now its my turn.
Now that is what I call true humility and confidence at the same time. The sultry eyed Subha Moy Ghatak, is now working with many for shows and fashion shoots. He shuttles back and forth for work, but whenever he has the time he does mingle and socialize too.
From us all, I wish him the luck he deserves and many more accolades ahead.
