I bought my first car during Covid 2nd wave!

The year 2019-2020 was an initial stage in the industry automation and the tech giants were already planning on decreasing the work force and replace it with software technology. The entire transition had to be rescheduled when Covid-19 pandemic hit globally.

It is true that Covid-19 has affected us in every possible way. Many small and medium scale businesses around the world had to shut down their operations due to incur in loss. As a result, we saw a huge decline in the employment and the world economy. Real estate business took a major toll during the first and second wave of the pandemic.

Despite all of this, people started setting up home offices and alternative transportation to cope up with boredom. They started purchasing eco-friendly cars mostly electric vehicles for their families.

As per an article by Weforum and EY, Nearly half of all prospective new car buyers went on buying electric cars. The reasons are quite simple –

  1. Private cars provided more safety.
  2. As the world was thriving, the cost of the cars decreased drastically so it became affordable for almost every middle class families.
  3. Fuel price was high and so they had to look for alternatives and electric cars were the best solution then.

I have seen much of friends opting for new cars and most of them were choosing electric cars. I used to go to my office by Uber as most other businesses had shut down their services. So, I didn’t think of buying a car for my myself or family.

But things changed when I got promoted to a new role. My parents were old so I had to opt for a permanent transport medium anyway. Buying a car was the safest option as my parents told me that the rented cabs are not properly cleaned after each ride. I was also fascinated by the new electric car models but was not sure about the payment procedure and it was not possible for me to pay the total car price at one go since my parents were dependant upon me. After much research I found a website where I could calculate the money I could save with biweekly payments. I was able to save $459 on the entire payment.

My parents wanted me to paint the car in blue as they always wanted to own a blue car. Com-Paint.com  helped me a lot in this case.

The year 2020-21 might have been disastrous for most of us but believe me that we were able to build so many new things that we hadn’t imagined ever. Electric cars, portable oxygen supplies, direct to home food and emergency medicine deliveries all were possible due to this pandemic. We thought of losing jobs but instead these new horizons let new employment opportunities and business scopes.

Covid-19 might have taken many closed ones from our lives but it has reminded us that we should look after our health and our family first. What do you think? Do leave a comment about your experience and how you have managed so far.
