PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (2005) film.

“PRIDE AND PREJUDICE” is 2005 Hollywood film, directed by Joe Wright. This movie is the depiction of Jane Austen’s 1813 novel of the same name. The story revolves around a middle class family and five sisters, their lives, moralities, virtues and ultimate destination. We have Keira knightley in the role of Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen as her love interest.

The plot centrals around Bennet family and their five daughters. Their ultimate moral up gradation regarding to the fact of marriage and finding true life partner. The story is engaging indeed, it will keep the readers glued to pages. However the film adaptation is felt loose a little bit somewhere. Also the chronology of the incidents is sometimes misplaced in the movie in respect to the actual book’s story. Keira Knightley well portray the role of Elizabeth Bennet and Matthew Macfadyen in the role of Mr. Darcy feels somewhere little bit uneasy but in the climax part they both show their potential.

Both the word pride and prejudice seem very contrasting as they show how far ones pride can lead him to prejudice. Misunderstanding is another important component of this whole movie as it creates a lot of quarrels between characters. However the negativity not only harm us but the people around us also, the words are actually proved true as we see the sufferings of the characters. The story feels very engaging and relating to our every day lives. As the story unfolds slowly we see a lot of interrelated twists waiting for us.

The interchanging meaning of pride and prejudice is slowly builded up throughout the story. Every character grows maturely and elegantly as the story unfolded slowly. Overall this movie is a good interpretation of the book ignoring some of the minor mistakes of misplacing the incidents from the actual book.
