You must have heard the proverb, “Time is Money?”. But do you know that the most important thing in today’s world is data. IT Tech giants like Google, Microsoft, Facebook spends a billion dollars every year on security and data protection.

If you ask me, I prefer Google Drive over any other cloud storage services. The reason is quite simple – Google Drive provides an easy-to-use interface and also 15 GB free space. But, there is one thing that you should keep in mind. Suppose you are creating music for free on YouTube and want your subscribers to download the audio version of those music from Google Drive., for a few downloads, it is okay. But, if you have, let’s say, 100k subscribers or more where there is a huge chance of getting more traffic and downloads in a certain time, Google will stop your subscribers from doing so. It is because Google let’s you store and transfer files between limited users. You cannot host your files for X number of users on the internet. And Moreover, if you have important files related to your work, you might consider a different service provider because Google lacks extra layer of security for it’s end users.

Due to pandemic, I was forced to work from home and doing so till date. As I have to handle a lot of highly influential clients, I have to take care of their data in a most secured way possible. So, I was going through a lot of service providers on the internet, who were offering cloud storage and high security. Luckily, I got to know about pCloud who were offering a 2TB family plan with a huge discount. The best thing I liked about them is that they had a dedicated service team who helped me get onboard and also configured my Google Drive with pCloud through which I was able to sync all of my data in no time.

That’s not it, they also provide streaming services. So I created different folders for work, for personal use and for my music channel. I uploaded music on the personal music channel folder and streamed it online. This helped me in sharing my creation with my subscribers on YouTube. In other words, cloud storage drive + Video / Audio Streaming = pCloud.

If you still think that you require another layer of security, you can opt for their military grade encryption for an additional charge.

Have you heard about the website Root Me? Hackers around the world join and accept hacking challenges. If you think you are interested, you can surely join the website. I am leaving the link here.  Talking about challenges, one more reason of choosing pCloud over Sync.com and other websites was that pCloud invites hackers to hack and break their encryption and the winner gets a whooping $100,000!

I started writing this blog where I mentioned that data is everything. If you are considering to use pCloud or any of the cloud services to store your data, you can do an initial encryption on your system and then upload it on the cloud. This will help in securing your client’s data and also save you from losing a millions!

Keep reading my blogs, the next one will be about how installing SSDs on my workstation changed the pace of my work!

Thanks!
